Installation Process
Locate the Studs: Using a stud finder, locate the studs in the wall where the brackets will be mounted.
Mark Bracket Placement: Once studs are located, use a tape measure to mark the positions for your brackets. The standard distance between brackets is approximately every 3 to 4 feet, but this may vary based on local codes and the weight of your handrail.
Level and Align: With the bracket positions marked, use a level to ensure that they are aligned horizontally.
Drill Pilot Holes: At each marked position, drill pilot holes into the studs. This step is critical to prevent wood from splitting and to make the installation of screws easier.
Attach Brackets to the Wall: Secure each bracket to the wall using screws suited for your wall material.
Connect Handrail to Brackets: Place your handrail onto the mounted brackets. Use a level to check for straightness one more time before securing the handrail to the brackets with screws.
Shipping Instructions
Most stair parts will be manufactured according to your order and shipped within 4 to 5 days; however, there are many factors which can affect this general rule.
Items that are longer than 7 feet in length will have to ship via LTL motor freight. If additional charges apply to your on-line order that you were not aware of when you placed your order, you will have the opportunity to cancel your order.Common items that may be subject to LTL freight charges are handrail and metal balusters.
Handrail and stainless bar products may also be subject to oversize package charges. We do not provide lift gates for freight shipments. We recommend meeting the freight delivery truck and unloading the material by the piece from the back of the truck.
