Compared to traditional lost wax investment casting, it eliminates most of the process steps.


This reduces the process time from 2-3 weeks to less than a day while maintaining similar dimensional accuracy and surface finish.


Compared to sand casting, lost foam is 10 times more accurate on tolerances with tolerances of 0.2% (0.002”per inch) possible.


It is often net shape requiring zero machining.Even when machining is needed it is typically for tapped threads or a finish pass on sealing surfaces.


Switching from a machined casting to lost foam is faster and cheaper.


Lost foam is the most sustainable method to make metal parts.It recycles scrap to produce brand new components.

 

 

The Casting Method of Lost Foam Casting is as Follows
  • Use styrofoam plastic patterns instead of ordinary patterns.

 

  •  After molding, pour the molten metal without taking out the shape.

 

  • Under the heat of liquid metal, the foam plastic mold disappears after gasification and combustion.

 

  • The molten metal replaces the space occupied by the original foam mold.

 

  • After cooling and solidification, the required castings can be obtained.
